WHO ARE THE FACULTY?

Board Stiff CRNA is staffed by nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists from university teaching programs (Yes, the very same people who have been badgering you for nearly three years with questions like “How do you calculate thecardiac out-put with the Ficke equation?”). They all have years of combined experience in education and clinical patient care, and all currently work in the OR administering anesthesia.

Paige Crespo, CRNA, is currently in clinical practice at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She serves on the clinical faculty of Louisiana State University School of Nurse Anesthesia and trains student nurse anesthetists in the OR daily.

Mimi Primeaux, CRNA, Lead CRNA at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, also serves on the clinical faculty of LSU School of Nurse Anesthesia. When not training SRNAs in the OR, Mimi spends much of her time making clinical assignments for student nurse anesthetists, and is responsible for ensuring their clinical rotations meet all requirements and caseload is appropriate for level of training.

Christopher Gallagher, MD, author of the books, Board Stiff Live, Board Stiff Live TOO, Board Stiff Live TEE, Anesthesia Unplugged, Teaching Your Kids Tennis, Cool Things Happen When You Speak Other Languages and a few graphic anesthesia romance novels (okay the last one is iffy). Chris is Residency Director at the State University of New York at Stony Brook and serves on the faculty of the Stonybrook School of Nurse Anesthesia.

Lebron Cooper, MD, who has served as fellowship director for cardiac anesthesia, Vice-Chair for Anesthesia at the Ochsner Clinic, and is currently serving as Director of Medication Safety and CVT anesthesiology faculty member at the University of Miami. Dr. Cooper has worked extensively with CRNAs, and is currently on the clinical faculty of the University of Miami School of Nursing Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia.

Richard Silverman, MD, is Clinical Director of Anesthesiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital and is Medical Director for the Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia at the University of Miami School of Nursing Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia.
